Final Exam and Final course grades are now posted here
-
The college does not mail out grades.
The college does have automated ways to check your grades, which you can
review in the class schedule/catalog.
After I manually grade all the Final Exams,
I will post the following on the class web site:
- your Final Exam score showing your score for each question
- all Final Exam questions, your answers and the correct answers
- your course grade and rank
-
Your web login/password will allow you to access the class web site for at least
6 months after the end of the semester, which should give you plenty of time
to check your grade for this class. Note that sometimes the college
takes down its network for maintenance between semesters so the class
web site may be down.
-
Your telnet login will expire about 2 weeks after the end of the
semester and all your files will be deleted.
-
I hope that you have found this class to be both useful and enjoyable.
I understand that some of you did not have the time to put into the
class that you had hoped. I also understand that everyone learns in
different ways. I would like to hear any feedback from you:
- What aspects of this class were enjoyable and/or worked well for you
(and why)?
- What aspects were not enjoyable and/or did not work for you (and why)?
- What changes in the class or class work would have been
better for you?
Please don't worry about hurting my
feelings as some of the best improvements in the class have resulted
from complaints that students have shared with me. Your comments will
not affect your grade.

In the fall 2008 semester, please consider taking the advanced UNIX
class CS 198 on Thursday nights which combines CS 241 (shell scripts) and
CS 242 (system
administration). There will be several CS 198 classes so please sign
up for the correct one. Please register early as classes can be
canceled, even before the first class meeting, if not enough students
sign up.

As the
author of the CS 141 text book: Practical UNIX, I would be glad to
autograph your book.
You would have something
to show that you took a class from the book's author and I would have one
less book being sold second hand.
